April - Recruiting
April was pretty sure she could create some kind of vaccine using ingredients from the plant itself.
So with some of the strange fruit and some spore clusters, she was able to create a trial vaccine.
Tate: You sure this will work?
April: Nope. We'll have to test it out first.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
They went to 8 Bells since there seemed to be plenty of infected sims around there. They tried the vaccine out on one.
It...didn't work.
April: Sorry, Mrs. Sigworth...
After several tries April thought she could make some changes and make an actual vaccine.
April: I'm sure this one will work. And if it can cure the infection, I think we can use it to defeat The Mother as well.
Tate: We'll need some help. I'll talk to Wolfgang Munch. I think he'll be able to help us, since he's helped us already.
April: And I'll talk to the General.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
They found Wolfgang at 8 Bells.
Tate: We'll need one of those vaccines.
April: Oh dear...
Thankfully, it worked this time. April asked him if he would help them defeat The Mother.
Wolfgang: Just...don't mention to my wife that I was possessed by that thing.
Tate: Now all that's left is to talk to General Grunt.
April: He'll be at the barracks tonight to supervise training. I'll talk to him then.
~*~*~*~*~*~
After training, April approached General Grunt.
April: Sir, permission to report?
General: Proceed.
April: I have a report on the source of the infection that's plaguing the town.
General: That's above your paygrade...
He hesitated, not really knowing her rank; she was dressed for pt after all.
April continued on anyway.
April: The source of the infection is in the deepest level of the lab, a massive plant that...
General: That lab is sealed and no unauthorized personnel should be...!
April: The Mother has been giving me visions about Lyla, Sir.
That took the wind right out of his sails.
General: How did you...
April: I've seen her.
General: That's impossible!
April: In visions. After she died, she tried to tell you...
The General was sputtering. The public knowledge about Lyla was that she had gone missing. April continued on before he could get any more words in, though he looked about ready to wallop her right there.
April: She tried to tell you that she's moved on. That's why she can't come back. She's...at peace now.
Suddenly, the anger passed from General Grunt and he burst into tears.
Gernal: Oh, Lyla...
April: She wouldn't want you to put people at risk in order to bring her back.
General Grunt just looked at her, flabbergasted.
April: I've seen what can happen to people who spend too much time in contact with The Mother... You might find yourself on a path you never intended. But if we stop the source of the infection, we can save Strangerville. And then the town can be at peace too, like Lyla...
General: Is she...is she really? At peace? You saw her?
April: Yes, I really did. Please, Sir, will you help us?
General: First of all, this conversation remains confidential. Second of all... Yes, you're right... Of course. The Mother needs to be defeated. I will help you.
April: Thank you, thank you, Sir!
General: But if this conversation gets out I'll have you tossed in the brig, are we clear?
April: Y...yes sir!
