April - Conclusion

April, Tate, Wolfgang, and Buzz were ready to fight The Mother.

They weren't sure what to expect, but they each had a sprayer with the vaccine April had made in it.

They started strong with everyone spraying The Mother with the vaccine.

But then The Infected started to interfere.

Wolfgang: Where'd they all come from?!

April: Stay strong! Keep attacking!

It was getting close. April could tell The Mother was beginning to tire, but so were her teammates.

Then Tate got attacked by one of The Infected.

April: Tate!!

Just then, Wolfgang landed the finishing blow to The Mother and she slumped over, defeated at last.

Tate was lying on the ground.

April: Tate! Tate, please wake up...

Tate: Ughhh... Did we...win?

He slowly got to his feet and April threw her arms around him.

April: Yes! We defeated her.

General Buzz: I thank you two. With that thing gone now...my mind feels clearer somehow. Or maybe it's just because I know now that Lyla is at peace.

April: What happened that night, when Lyla disappeared?

The General took a deep breath.

General Buzz: She was going to leave me. She had been on her way to see her friend, Olive Specter, but I followed her. She never made it to Olive's. I found her, collapsed on the ground. I panicked.

April: But why didn't you tell anyone what had happened? Why say she disappeared?

General Buzz: At first, I was scared. When news got out about the divorce I was sure I would be the main suspect. Of course, people still talked, but... I...I didn't kill her! I was too hard on her and the boys, that's why she was leaving. I guess it's time now for the truth to come out.

April: But what happened to her?

General Buzz: I don't know, when I found her...she was already...gone. Grim arrived shortly after and took her away. All I was left with was her urn.

April: Well, I'm sure she'd be proud of what you did today.

General Buzz: Thank you. I guess it's time I retire and start to change my ways.

He saluted and left them.

Tate turned to April.

April: We never did find out how she died...

Tate: What about you? What will you do now?

April: I don't know. There's probably no way for me to go home...

Tate: I'll understand if you want to leave and try to find a way back...to your world, but...

Tate: If I could give you a reason to stay...

Tate: Would you like to come to my family's house for dinner?

April: I'd love to.

Tate: It's actually my sister's birthday party.

April: I'll be there.

Epilogue:

In another simverse....

April finds herself coming back home after the abduction.

Tate: April? Is everything okay?

April: I got abducted! I met aliens! They... I think they cloned me... but then they brought me home.

Tate: You mean there's a clone of you running around out there somewhere?

April: I don't know. But at least I'm here, right?

Tate: As long as you're here, safe.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Notes: The thought of Tate alone without April in another simverse made me sad, so she was safely returned home. The one who's been featured in this story was a clone which is why she still has no memories of her childhood...because she never had one. So it's a happy ending in both simverses. <3
